Despite being 41, my husband still thinks that Ozzy is the king. He regresses to about age 15 when “Crazy Train” or “Ironman” come up on Sirius. He vows that he will attend OzzFest this year. He will do so alone.
We will, however, be travelling to Oz together. Read the rest of this entry »

Yesterday on NPR I heard the rather alarming news that 50-year-old Donny Osmond has put out a new CD — which he mixed himself, in his dressing room, between performances of Broadway’s Beauty and the Beast — entitled Love Songs of the 70’s. And indeed, that is what the album is comprised of. Here is the playlist as reported by Amazon.com, along with the original, um, artists: Read the rest of this entry »

This morning in spin class, one of the members was lamenting that she had to send her kids out of the room last night while the TV was on. The cussing and the subject matter, as she described it, was pretty shocking, and she nearly wailed, “And this was on regular TV, not even cable!”
It is moments like that which reinforce my satisfaction that being TV-free has no downsides. Read the rest of this entry »
