Dinner is Served

This summer I handed out cooking assignments to the teenagers: Necia will cook on Tuesday nights, and Kira will cook on Thursday nights. Tonight was Necia’s first night, and Josh helped her make Lemon-Pepper Chicken and Caesar salad. It was delicious!

Barbie Village
It was a nice day out, and when Tia came over the girls spent several hours outside using bricks to create a whole village of homes and stables and stores for the Barbies. Cute and creative!

Sunday Sittin’

Kess enjoyed a quiet afternoon sitting in the chaise in my bedroom with books and blankies. A fine way to spend some time, if you ask me!

Kessie’s First Lost Tooth

Kess has been wiggling and wiggling that tooth until she finally let me pull it out today. She is looking forward to a visit from the Tooth Fairy tonight!

Devony’s Eye View

I let Devony shoot some pictures this evening and this was my favorite of Ayla, Gavin, Kess, and Tia doing “Monkey Face.”

Dance Recital
Ayla’s dance studio held a recital tonight–Ayla’s team did a great job with both of their numbers. Ayla herself is quite a dancer with a wonderful sense of rhythm and timing.

Graduation Party

We had a graduation party for Necia tonight; several of her friends and family and supporters came for a BBQ and cake-and-ice cream. Sometimes it is all I can do to keep from just picking her up and running off with her so she can’t leave me, but I know she is ready to fly the coop. Isn’t she beautiful?

Rice Crispies Treats

This is one of my favorite desserts in the world. I could eat the whole pan!

Bleeding Hearts

I got these from my friend Sharon this spring; when she moved she told me I could dig them up from her yard! This mild, wet spring has been great for this plant and has meant I’ve had bleeding heart blooms clear through the end of May, and probably into June!

“You are getting verrrrrryyy sleeeepppyyyyy . . . “

I was in charge of staffing the seniors’ graduation all-night party, which was about as much fun for the parent volunteers as it was for the kids! There were lots of activities throughout the night, and at 1:30, we had a hypnotist come in. Here are the kids getting comfy.

And a bit more so . . . .

Now having a little fun being The Village People performing YMCA:
